It is winter. The trees have lost their leaves, the sky is gray, the water is chilled. Katy should be freezing, wearing only the worn out tweed coat she has. But with Ray by her side, she can't help but feel warm inside. This is the moment she has been waiting for. No stress of school or home, she finally has the chance to tell him how she feels. They just spent the entire day together. It is obvious that they are both attracted to each other, and have liked each other for the longest time, but this is what it all comes down to. After staring into the river for a few minutes, Katy begins to speak, but Ray cuts her off. "I love you," he said. "I always have and always will." He then proceeded to give her the most gentle kiss she had ever received, as her heart started to melt.
